Health Guarantee/Contract
All puppies will be up-to-date on vaccinations and worming, will be checked by our Veterinarian, and have a certificate of good health. We assure you that we take every precaution to make sure your puppy arrives in perfect health. Each puppy will have a checkup from our Vet before it leaves our home.
Although we cannot guarantee the color, size, breeding ability or show quality of the puppy, we can guarantee that all of our puppies will leave our home as a healthy, happy, disease free puppy. We warrant, that to the best of our ability and knowledge, we have produced a healthy, well adjusted, problem free puppy. Although we make every effort to breed as close to the breed standard as possible, we do not warrant any issues other than health.
Buyer must take the puppy to a licensed Veterinarian within 3 work days of receiving the puppy for a wellness exam or this Guarantee will be null and void. Any serious problem should be reported to the Seller immediately. Each puppy comes with a Health Guarantee to the original Buyer for two years from date of birth. This Guarantee is for death caused by genetic defects of the heart, liver, kidneys and lungs.
The Buyer’s licensed Veterinarian must provide the Seller with a written certificate stating the exact cause of death as verified by a necropsy (animal autopsy). If death was caused by a genetic defect and not neglect by the Buyer, the puppy will be replaced with one of equal value as soon as one is available or Buyer will be given a full refund of the purchase price, Buyers choice. The Seller is not responsible for any Veterinarian expenses, or expenses incurred to have the puppy and its papers returned to the Seller. (This has never happened).
The Seller does not guarantee against conditions brought on by stress or environmental changes that we cannot control once the puppy leaves our care. We do not warrant against normal puppy-hood ailments such as roundworms, kennel cough, coccidiosis, or giardia as these can at times be unpreventable and are treatable. Nor does it cover non-life threatening possible genetic problems such as an “innocent” heart murmur, hip/elbow disorder, luxating patella, undescended testicles, bite, or any treatable condition.
Young puppies can develop an innocent heart murmur while they are growing rapidly. The murmur may first appear at 6-8 weeks of age, and will usually be outgrown by about 6 months of age. This type of murmur is benign and has no impact on the dog’s health.
After 7 days of receiving the puppy we will not be responsible for Parvo Virus, Distemper, Hepatitis, Lepto, and Canine Influenza, as these are highly contagious diseases that can be contracted after leaving our home. The puppy will have received his first vaccination, helping to prevent these potential problems. Buyer must keep up with puppy vaccinations and worming schedule. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO PREVENT DISEASES AND POSSIBLE DEATH!
If puppy is shipped and dies or becomes injured during shipping, Seller is not liable and any recourse will be between the Buyer and shipping company. If for any reason legal action becomes necessary (either by Buyer or Seller), Buyer is required to come to Rolla, Missouri, Phelps County. (This has never happened.)
