About Us
Welcome to Cedar Ridge Shibas!
We would like to tell you a little bit about ourselves and how we came to love Shibas. We are blessed to have three grown children and six wonderful grandchildren! We live on 25 acres in the Missouri Ozarks and have always had a dog of some kind. We stumbled upon our first Shiba Inu in 2005. We were looking for a playmate for our Akita when we came across a five year old Shiba that was up for adoption. She was a beautiful red Shiba that had been rescued from a puppy mill, rehabilitated by a wonderful woman, and was now ready for her new forever home. She was such a friendly girl and was absolutely gorgeous. She had that beautiful "fox" look that Shibas are known for. We couldn't resist her charm and decided to bring her home with us. We were amazed when she jumped up onto the front seat of our truck and was ready to go! As it turned out, she loved to go for a ride.
It was hard to believe that this friendly little girl had spent the first five years of her life in a small cage because she was such a sweetheart. She was playful, loving, very smart, and super friendly. This girl did not know a stranger, she liked everyone! We quickly fell in love with her and gave her the best home possible until she passed away four years later. We soon realized that the Shiba Inu was a uniquely special breed of dog that we wanted to share with others. We have been responsibly breeding only Shibas since 2007 and we have loved every minute of it. We take great pride in raising beautiful, healthy, quality Shibas. We are indeed blessed to have our children, grandchildren, and Shibas bring love, laughter, and joy into our lives each and every day.
